Halal as Catalyst for Business Expansion Print E-mail
Thursday, 31 May 2012 00:00

Date: 3 July 2012

Venue: MATRADE Exhibition & Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur

Key note address by Dato' Seri Jamil Bidin, CEO of Halal Industry Development Corporation

Asif International (M) Sdn Bhd and the Malaysian Export Academy, with the support of Malaysian Exporters Association, will be organizing the 3rd National Halal Conference 2012 on 3 July 2012 at Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

The World Muslim population is approaching 1.6 billion people and expected to increase by 30 percent of the world’s population by 2025. The total spending on food would come up to $584 billion a year, if every Muslim spends just $1 a day on Halal food! Malaysia has been globally recognized as the world’s Halal food hub and the forerunner in this industry.

The success of Halal industry, in both domestic and export markets, depends on a broad range of policy developments including those related to law and regulations, support services and infrastructures. This includes human resource development, finance, as well as marketing and promotional efforts. Achievements in the Halal Industry can also be accountable through services such as Halal management, logistics and finance. Thus, Malaysian Halal entrepreneurs and Halal exporters must determine the “Halalness” of their product and services.

With the theme “Halal as Catalyst for Business Expansion”, this conference is held to focus on the latest developments and future directions of Halal industries in all sectors.
